So another BBCNN run in the books. It was hot and dusty(except for the guys with A/C
). Sam,Cameron, in their 60 Justin in his 80 Kurt in his FJ and yours truly in skuzy FJ40. Made it to the trailhead in record time braving the recent burn area. From leaving the pavement the fire was very noticeable with freakishly burned trees and bushes, until we crested the hill onto the BR trail. We took a 1/2hr detour from the original trail to view the Leviathan mine
due in part to the "trail Leader" getting us lost. In my defense it has been at least 5 years and my son says more like 8 that we have been on the BR trail. Due to Sam preparedness with his awesome GPS system we were soon back on the original trail. We got to the river and were expecting deep flowing pools and rapids. Instead we found water that was barely flowing with moss and alkaline patches lining the shore. So no cannonballs into the river I had imagined while driving the hot dusty trail. We had lunch and a BS session on the shore under the pines and decided to go out the "Gardnerville way". Me and Justin were in hurry to watch the Wolf Pack get slaughtered by AZ. Crossing the river was uneventful as the water barely came to my rims. We did see some great scenery at the hot tub site with some beautiful bikini clad women admiring our rigs. One of these beauties even said "Nice Jeep" and I gave the discouraging reply of "thanks"
) when her boyfriend came to my rescue and as I crossed the river I heard him implore"THAT'S NOT A JEEP ITS A TOYOTA LANDCRUISER". Thank you kindly sir with the beautiful-now informed-BABE. Aired up, made it home,
without A/C, just in time for the game(which turned into a nap on the couch).
