Me and the fam just took a drive to Sand Mountain to check out it's condition with the latest snow. About 10 minutes on the Fallon side was a Tahoe on it's lid off the side of the road. We saw 1 body covered up behind the vehicle, obviously ejected from not wearing a belt. :frown:

Just a reminder to buckle up and watch out for these nasty winter roads!!!

Funny how all these years of vehicle safety and some people just won't wear one.

My dad is that way. He's gotten a load of seatbelt tickets, he's always telling me to be safe, but he never wears his seatbelt.

Nothing I can do about it, but sometimes I'd really like to kick him for doing it.

I know what you mean bud! From what the news was saying, he got ejected, the Tahoe rolled over him, then stopped. I've always been a big seat belt person, and now I have the full cage in my 40, I want 4 points......the lap belt makes me skiddish!

Just make sure what ever seatbelt system you use, it's comfortable and easy to put on. I have see way too many people put in a full harness (4 or 5 point) and only wear the lap portion because the rest of it is too cumbersome and uncomfortable to wear on a regular basis.

For normal day to day type stuff, I am a big fan of a factory style 3 point seatbelt. When you are going to really be gettin' it on, then break out the harness.

Ditto on that.

I had a 5 point in my first Bronco with a cage. Most of the time I just wore the lap belt, especially in the winter since the top harness was such a PITA to buckle all the time with a heavy coat on.

You can buy some pretty good stuff online for factory type 3-point or you can find them in the J-yards, but an old used seatbelt can be pretty dicey, especially if the car took a big hit at one point in it's life.

In a rollover though, nothing beats a 4 or 5 point rig.

Someday, I really think it will become a lot less tabu to see crawlers wearing harnesses and helmets, just because of the rollover danger to your noggin.

Joanne thinks I should wear a helmet, all the time.

BTW 5 pts suck for the spotter, a real PITA if your jumping in and out of a rig all day.
