Bad engine mounts?

I'm not a 4runner guy but the son of a friend of mine is having some issues with his rig. The main issue is that after installing a new radiator, the fan ate the radiator after a minor fender bender. I suggested he check the engine mounts as perhaps they've failed... I replaced the mounts on an FJ60 years ago and when I removed them they were separated.

Another possibility is that the aftermarket radiator is too fat? Or maybe the fan is too big? Or the clutch assembly?

Anyone have any suggestions I can pass along to him? He's 19 but not afraid to turn a wrench.

First, pics of damage.

And yes Toyota minis motor mounts do have a history of separating. Old fix was to weld a short length of chain from upper part of mount to frame horn. left cushion of mount w/out flex allowing things to jump around.
