Russell,

What happened with the drive shaft? I'm amazed that you had that issue. Looks like you guys had a great time regardless.

We were traveling at 70 mph on cruise. The tranny down-shifted and it happened. Broke at the rear u-joint. The driveshaft drug on the highway and got bent and ruined the rear yoke. Messed up the yoak coming out of the pinion as well. I replaced everything (see pic on blog).

Not sure why it happened unless it was just due to the weight I was hauling (est. 15k lbs) or possibly the strap worked loose. The new driveline looks stronger than the stock one.
Since I am going to stay in the sport for a while, I have decided to go to a 1-ton PU so................

For Sale:

I can understand the if it doesn't work - replace it mentality...;)

Just talked with my buddy, Brian, in Vegas, who just got back from Moab. He talked to you guys out there and followed you thru Pritchett Canyon. He was in a black Rubicon. Small world!

That is some trip Russell.... Glad everyone is okay.
