I moved the front forward about 5 inches and the rear back about 4. Front will have near a 90 approach. Rear still sucks but Oh well.
I think I might have to do a little trimming to the rear. Whatcha think.
Those are the Q's. It is actually still sitting on 31's and they are just rolled into place so the front fender will have better clearence than the pic, but the wheelbase is right on at 100.5".
Yeah looks like you have a lot of trimming to do on the front fenders and rear tub wells. What are you doind to lengthen the drive line? Keep posting pics of the process! Have fun.
Front driveline is square. Reciever tubing. HEAVY but stout.
For the rear I used the long side from the dshaft AZFJ sent me and the short side of my old Driveline. Reason being is that his axles had a smaller flange than my Tcase and old axles. Kinda caught us both offguard but no big deal. I will go in and have this new driveline balanced with the new short side.
Well I will probably just use some hose clamps until I get around to it.
Sweet ass sweet...The axles give new life to another Cruiser!!!...With 36's and bump stops..not much trimming in the front is needed..but the rear is a little surgery involved!...But you could do it like this!..First pic is how it was with the 37's..Second pic is the rear cut..Last pic is the front now with 39's!
When you do the Spring over you have to put new perches on anyway so you just set your pinion to what you want and weld it up. No need to redrill a perch the hole point is to move the front axle forward anyway.
Clint- nice to see that 60 under there. I am not going to trim the front like you did. I am no pussy but the body on my FJ is WAY nice still. The rear however....it will be trimmed out a lot. And I will get rid of those gay flares.
