Axle issue

I need advice about fixing a leaky driver side. Can this be done in the drive way and any tools needed specific to axle repair?

Front or rear axle? The rear requires no special tools; the front requires a slide hammer or a big pry bar or some other device to pop the circlips that hold the half-shaft in. I've done lots of them in the field, so yeah you can do it in your drive way.

Thanks 1911 will start the process after the dealership does the recall issue monday

These work great to remove a front axle. I know the guy who splices them. (Wink wink)

If it is your front axle is the leak coming from under a boot? If so you can replace the bands. I know this guy too...
