Purchased an axial a few weeks back on ebay. Nice set up to start. That was two weeks ago...things have changed. I actually have no charger so not sure if the thing works well yet. I have been rebuilding and replacing parts since it arrived.
Purchased a bug shell and decided to take a shot at painting. Fairly simple two tone was the goal. Except for the fact that the paint was supposed to be white, and was mislables silver metalic, it came out ok. I actually purchased another shell today so I can try painting another time.
The thing was not low enough so I relocated the links, put different ones on the rear, created different top links on the rear and moved them out on a plate. Just want to see if it will help the rear control itself better. I ordered soem real links today to place where my homeade ones are. It flexes nicely but might be a little stiff.
The front is as low as I can get it with the original center link still in place.
The tires are HR's with weights in the front and none in the rear. Foams came with them but I am not sure they are going to stay after a test ride.
The dig is finished with plastic ties cause I can't seam to get the linkage to work properly. I am most likely going to go with rear steer or nothing if I can't get the dig working right.
The skid plate is replaced with an aluminum one. Didn't like the plastic set up.
I am slowly changing everything to green after having orange, black, red, and green links. Obsessive I know.
Some proline Hammers are in route til' I can take 4rnr's advice in getting a set of Dirty Harry's. They are simply the most insane looking rim out there.
I'll get some pics son but seeing as I have no camera, might take a few days...
Thanks for introducing me to another hobby Woody. John is the other to cause me to be broke, and Todd will soon be the reason for all of the next round of changes after I hit his rock pile.
