Anyone put an extra tank in a newer tacoma 05 and up. Im thinking about doing it to my 09. I was thinking of a 25 gallon tank in the bed and gravity feed into stock tank with a valve. Will the new composite beds handle the weight? Anyone.

I was thinking about the same thing, have the 09 too, with the 68 FJ40...some similarities here huh? let me know when you find one that is kick-ass and ill jump on it too. i doubt you would have to worry about weight issues. maybe loss of cargo space and thats it. keep me posted!

Hi inthewall,
how are things in Elko, a lot warmer than Rogue River Or I am willing to bet.
According to a post I read, gravity feeding of gas fuel tanks is unlawful. check it out @ Toyota Tech.
I installed an aux tank in my fj40 a few years ago, but now it needs an upgrade because of the current installation of a GM TBI fuel injection system.
The problem is the electric fuel selector valve I used is not suitable for the higher (15 psi) fuel pressure pumps needed to power the fuel injection system.( FIS)
So now I am trying to locate a FIS donor vehicle that still has the aux tank fuel valve in place.
Do you know if Toyota furnished any aux fuel systems.
P/S I mounted my tank up against the rear bumper between the frame rails.
Also, check out the combination Toolbox/Aux fuel tanks on Google.
Cheers Heron.

I have seen a few tanks in northern tool with a hardware kit. A friend of mine has one for his diesel pickup it works great for diesel. Im not sure how it would tap into a new tacoma. I have an old confer tank on my 40 but thats a totally different setup. This would be for strictly offroad use:rolleyes:
Oh, it was -2 degrees last night
