There are a couple of us thta would like to be able to turn of the Headlights completely. Is there some simple way to do this without the help of a Mechinic each time we desire to do this.

If it makes any difference 1 is a UZJ100 2002 and the other is a 2003.

What do you mean by "turn off the headlights completely"?

If you are referring to the dim lights that stay on when your headlight combo switch is in the "OFF" position, those are "Daytime Running Lights" otherwise known as DRL's.

The easiest way to disable them is to have the emergency brake engaged when the motor is started. However I dont recommend you drive around with your ebrake on.

I have created a little plug and play harness that can disable the DRL's on my LX470 but when i use it, the HIGH BEAM indicator bulb on my gauge cluster comes on.

Maybe someone else has an easier way to do it but then again, I think your insurance company gives a discount for having Daytime Running Lights so you might want to contact them.

Thanks

You guys are amazing:) The previous threads on this subject and again this time where very helpful. As I become more accustom to reseraching these questions I have from time to time I will try not to ask questions that I can already find the answer to in the archives.
Thanks for putting up with me as I live and learn. Have the greatest of New Years.
