ATRAC question

I have heard many references to how good ATRAC is. Has anything like it been used on a 4x4 before or is this a new electronic control scheme?

Does Jeep have anything like it on the TJ? Doesnt Hummer do something like it on the H2 and H3?

Sorry for the noob question. I am just curious if ATRAC is something only on Toyotas.

A-Trac is not a new technology, so you don't have anything to worry about there. Land Rover has used it for about 10 years so far with no problems.

My Land Rover has ETC, which stands for Electronic Traction Control, and is their version of A-Trac.

It works very well, and while in deep sand I was able to go where normal 4wd vehicles weren't -with basically street tires.

I do look forward to having the rear locker in the FJ when it arrives. I like to have plenty of options to keep my rig moving.
