Thanks for sharing. These rigs are great platforms for armouring. You should've shot at it to see if it worked.

Oh yeah, welcome to mud :flipoff2:

How can you tell it's armored? Looks the same to me...

(not doubting you -- just wondering)

Dont know what level armoring it has, but it definately looks light.. I have an armoured one in level III for urban-city travel and you can definately tell by the borders in the windows...The easy tell on an armoured vehicle is the window area...Level III windows are usually 30mm thick and reenforced at the edges by a 1.5 inch border steel plate which overlaps where the door closes....In summary if you can see a 1.5 inch black border on the windows and the LED 3rd brake light is not as bright as it should be; its armored and you definately DO NOT want to take pictures of it....
*these are the new gen of armouring as back in the day steel plate used to be used and you could tell by the sag of the vehicle or body roll....New armouring add just 190kg of weight...

JCmiro why do you have an armored LC200?

as i can recall the armor rating was B7
it belongs to a leading politician
and modern armored cars look just as stock. as i have seen the 100series armored TLC they have the dark borders

due to the value of money and govt taxes it costs around 35million Pkr

Depends on the level of armouring, you don't necessarily see the dark borders on the back. Some levels have the armouring start right behind the rear seat towards the from the of the vehicle. It creates a sort of cage for the occupants. Nowadays the jobs are done very esthetically and it is difficult to know which level a vehicle has.

The 200 (and the 100) is an awesome platform for armouring. Engine is strong, suspension beefed.. etc... We've cracked a few windows just shutting the doors of the 100's.. Heavy as heck...

Yes, agreed. Everything is aesthetic and almost invisible: what I was talking about is in the windows themselves. Where the policarbonate material meets the edge kind of like a window border. My windows roll down 10 inches. I've also seen some where the windows don't roll down and that don't hve the border, because the "glass" doesn't have to be overlaped. 7 million for a b7 wow wonder where the extra 6.5 million went. :-p but I don't really know as mine cost 180k CFR Lima Peru. And yes it is safe here just not safe if you own companies.

Next time you see it, look at the exhaust pipe and see if it says STEIT - That's the company I am with, we actually build and ship 10-20 BR6/FB6 TLC200's to Pakistan a month now. Most of our business however is still in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thats our TLC armoring factory - I will admit it hurts to take brand new TLC's with 5-10km on it and strip them apart all the way to the bare metal and armor them.

Its started out as a TLC 79 series (pickup) then I "modified" it a little. :)

So like, ummm, yeah..... where did the all take off parts go???

Your not going to want to hear this but in the last yr alone I have had to just "throw" away 35 cabins (minus the firewall), rear beds, front & rear bumpers, and all the doors and glass. Only part I can actually sell around here are the OEM wheels and tires at $200 for the full 5 wheel set

I have really thought about loading it them up and sending to either Africa or Australia, but its sad to say I just don't have the time.

I wonder if you did the two 100 series for the OSI office at the USAF base my wife works at ?
They are a few years old now.
I have been dying to get a close up inspection that my wife set up with the commanding officer for me, just haven't found the time.
I'm talking full blown overseas OEM with snorkels and diesels under the hood.

Here's a shot of my LC200 with the window open "fully" in case any of you were curious, in what I meant by the borders of the windows.
