As per the title does anyone wheel with a front swaybar and decent travel?

My front end flexes very well and the rear not to bad either, problem is my car is kinda tall (1'' body, ~2''-3'' spring plus tyres) and does sway alot especially on cornering and side slopes.

I am wondering if it is possible to have the front sway bar attached and by adjusting the lengths of the links have it work in an acceptable way. Problems I see are the sway bar ends with the chassis links hitting the shock absorbers and the sway bar itself hitting the diff pumpkin.

If anyone has tried something similar it would be great to know, hoping it will also help force the rear to work more and balance the vehicle out front to rear.

Hi All:

The Heep Wrangler comes with a front anti-sway bar that restricts travel a lot so jeepers will fit quick dis-connects on the ends of the anti-sway bar for off-road use.

Regards,

Alan

I haven't removed my sway bars and I'm running a 3 inch OME lift (heavies) with an extra 0.5 inch manafre shackle. I did however extend the swaybar links by the corresponding length by using pipe and grade 8 threaded rod.

I also repositioned the rear brake proportion valve with an alluminum block spacer so my rear disks worked properly. Running 33x12.50, my side lugs just kiss the inner fender wells in the rear -enough to rub the factory undercoat but not grind it off.

You'll see the flex in a pic I posted in this forum under Cooper STT longterm review.

Cheers,

John

Have a 4" lift on a swb with front sway bar removed. No noticable difference with or without on road.

I threw my front sway-bar away two years ago. BJ-70 swb, 1" b.l. and 2.5" spring lift on 35's. As far as I'm concerned, on a leaf spring rig you just delete the entire sway-bar. I think they were invented by lawyers.

Thanks for that go fast, seems from those pics you still have decent travel up front. Does your swaybar come close to hitting your shocks?
