Anyone looking for a 40?

Too bad it has front drums...

Easiest work I did on my 71' was rebuild the front axles with discs, Longs 30's, and a locker. Easiest to do, not easiest to pay for.;)

I prefer the styling of the earlier 40's over the square turn signals, and bottom wipers. I am biased of course though. It's just me, but I would rather have the old styling with the newer technology of the 78'-87' rigs. Wait a minute, come to think about it, that's exactly what I did with mine.:)

My problem is the 40 would be for my :princess:. She wants one she can wheel at Cullowhee and Tellico. The 'problem' is that I'll have to do all the work on it on top of fixing my Pig so I need something that wouldn't need a ton of work right off the bat. It does look pretty clean though.

It is complete, and does seem to be rust free. Plus it has a full cage and what looks like a lift. All pluses in my book. The killer for me would be the 3 speed. But with 32's it should be good.

I bet he paid more than what he is asking for it. Times are getting tough. It's time to start seeing the deals pop up.

I would hate to have to sell a 40 in this market.

I have even noticed the price of 60's camaros and chevelles come down since a year ago, and they were steady climbing.

hmmm, complete, rust free (possibly), hard top and doors, full cage of some sort...might not be a bad deal. If it had disc front and maybe a 4 speed (as you pointed out) I might be talking with the :princess:.

Guy on MS boards has an original 77. $3000 some rust. I was thinking about it until I bought the 80.

It looks a lot like one that used to be for sale in old village Mt. P by Lovetractors house. The whole back frame was angle iron! This may not be it but it looks similar but I am far from 100% sure. If you are interested be sure to ask for pictures of the rear frame before taking a far drive. Again not sure but it does look similar to that one.
