Good Morning! I have been poking around for a diesel cruiser for awhile now, and stumbled across this one:
http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/cto/4351160951.html

Seems a little high on price, but the km's are low for this era rig. I would want more info about the bondo, rust repair on both frame and body. I think I remember seeing this for sale a year or so ago, but I don't recall where, the details, or the price.

Anyway, I figured it may be worth a look, especially if Neil Young sounds good in it!

The Winter environment in Canada has not been kind to older Cruisers. I would be very reluctant to buy any vehicle from that region without a professional inspection.

Good advice, and I am going into this eyes wide open and willing to pass. At this point whenever I find something, I try to research as much as I can; hence brainstorming where I saw the rig I linked. I am definitely open to looking out west, and OK with fixer-uppers. I am no mechanic, but know my way around a garage, and have friends in low places. That said, unless a new frame is sourced, I am pretty leery of frames in need of patching/repair.

I want him to keep it and build that wood bumper he talked about in the Add..:) keep shopping..

Eastern Canada sees a lot of road salt. I owned a BJ70 from Ontario several years ago. It too had received some body work, but the cancer was still there. The worst part was that the frame was rapidly becoming toast. I took off the front bumper for some minor repairs and the surrounding frame just crumbled into dust. Very difficult to see this level of corrosion without hammering mightily on it, or taking things apart. So, sold it to a restorer with full disclosure. Great trucks-mine ran like a top. Much better in every way than an FJ40 or any Jeep, for sure. Hard to say with this one without a very close inspection. I'd be very leery though.
