saw this ad for what looks to be a nice cruiser. anyone know of it? ex mudder truck? is it a good deal? wasnt really looking to get a built 80, but this looks like its in decent condition. any thoughts?

thanks

There's a fairlead on the ARB - I couldn't tell if there was a winch too. If those are mods you would do (or consider doing) it seems like a screaming deal. I would normally think a clean 94 w/ 160K would go around 7-9K (asking price). That thing has around $3K worth of bumpers, as well as lights, snorkel, possibly a winch, and a lift and tires to boot. Especially in CA - that seems like a great deal.

I prefer the leather interior, but many in here prefer the cloth. I would think if you got that for $10K you would be $$$$ ahead if you were planning similar mods. Nice looking too.

I know this 80 because I lost the bid at the auto auction. I was wondering when it would come up. he paid $5800 for it. I only lost because my dealer friend was looking at me to bid when the auctioneer dropped the gavel. I was devistated. anyway, it is very clean, started right up. lift, lockers, center diff lock, kaymar rear bumper, snorkel, arb front bumper, no winch, but it had a fairlead, and pre-wired with warn quick disconnect plugs. it was very clean and nice. I should be driving it right now!!!!! but, I know for a fact that he paid $5800 for it. I don't know the history, but it appeared to be a trade in to Folsom Lake Ford. The wierd thing is that whoever owned it before, obviously knew what it was, but I don't understand why he traded it in when it looked to be worth a lot more?

d'oh...just read in the 80 tech forum and there were already a couple threads on this truck. seems like its still uncertain whether or not there are lockers in it? its got the dial, but no actuators on the diffs themselves..just hoses (breathers?) hmm..

i dont mind the cloth...looks like the leather gets beaten up quite abit after seeing many pics of average mileage cruisers. would prefer the leather but isnt a deal breaker. sans lockers is though...

that is wierd, I did not look at the axles to see if the actuators were there or not, I just assumed they were since it had the dial..... I could take a look at it tomorrow since it is a local dealership. I like the cloth better. the leather gets too craked and ugly. the cloth in this rig is very clean.
