Anyone know the actual part number for the vacuum/Airbox for the 2k 100 series? While changing a coil/plug in bank 2, two of the fixed plastic nipples cracked. I have them JBweld/Gorilla Tape "Bushfixed", but will need to replace the whole box.

Thanks in advance!

Assuming you mean 17875-50190. I broke one of those too, but mine is still glued since it doesn't leak. Way too expensive for what it is... Might as well retrofit a KN intake pipe from the sequoia/tundra for the money.

You’re better off buying a used box from a junkyard or doing a fix like the guys above said. Way too expensive for a new plastic box…

I broke mine a while back. Just used a soldering iron and strips cut from a windshield washer fluid bottle to weld it back.

Any pics of this setup? Did you re-run/replace any of the rubber vacuum lines in the process?

I've done the same, it's holding up better than my attempt at gluing it.
Can you describe the process and parts you used to do this repair? I'm not opposed to doing this.

Not opposed to doing this, though i am weird like that..I prefer the OEM part replacement but DAMN..that is seriously expensive. Maybe I can find a used Ebay part and or do the repairs as described. Would you all recommend replacing the vacuum lines at the same time? If so, what diameter and type hose do you all recommend?

Unrelated, but during flood season here in Louisiana, I got into some DEEP water (not over the hood) and fouled my drive belt (I think). What brand do you all recommend outside of OEM Toyota belt? The one on here now is a Dayco belt - which, I THOUGHT was a quality parts replacement..though i guess the water/resistance in that water on the fan blades could ruin just about any belt. The truck did fine plowing through the water but the belt hasn't seemed "right" since- squeaky, noisy, even seems to "slip" sometimes though the visual inspection of the belt seems ok. Part number/type (like rib-count/shape of belt) would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys!

I had to go back and look at it, snapped a pic. I can't recall exactly which nipple this is, but it snapped off at the base. I tried gluing it, but it still came apart and created a vacuum leak with bad idle. I found a brass nipple that fit the hose, but it needed an adapter to get to a threaded male fitting that fit the hole. Luckily for me it snapped off pretty clean, and I was able to forcefully thread the brass fitting into the plastic hole, and it seals fine. No evidence of vacuum leak, and spraying carb cleaner around it while running does not result in a jump in RPM.

Found this one on Ebay:

About half new price ~200, Think it's worth the money (if I decide not to repair as suggested) to just pay the "new" price and not worry about it again for another twenty years? :)

Great Bush-fix, Sir! Thanks for this. If it's not too much trouble, please describe the process of the repair just a bit so I may glean some context for my repair attempt. While I am mechanically inclined, i am not sure of the parts to look for at ACE or Lowes to meet the described spec for the repair. Example: Nipple diameter and type (like, is this pneumatic or hydraulic part) on your best guess/memory..did you use a sealant on the thread side of any kind?

Thanks in advance for this. I figure this is worth a try to save the 2-400~bucks for a used or new part assembly.

On the positive side, finally got ALL of the coils and plugs replaced with factory Denso. That one where I wound up breaking the plastic nipples in question was the LAST coil pack and plug that was NOT Deno all the way. The PO clearly went for the cheapest options when it came to maintenance replacements. The coil pack I removed didn't even have a brand stamp- or name of any kind on it. Why anyone would do this is beyond me. It looked like it had exploded inside the casing, and was all brown-burnt and warped.

Fools. :) I still carry two spare Denso Coil Packs and Denso performance plugs in my repair kit just in case. :)

If you have just a broken nipple hose connector or what ever its called you can get them from K & N, slowly screw it in then glue it. I did that on 2 broken nipples on the air box over 10 years ago.

Yeah, that KN setup that @LARRYG36 has is exactly what I was describing, and the fix that he did with the new barb is almost exactly what I did. The nipple on mine was stuck inside the hose so I just pulled it out and used some epoxy to stick it back on, then I went back and put a few more coats of epoxy around the outer seam once it had dried on to ensure there were no air leaks. Used the old hose because it was still functioning and isn't too dry or cracked. You can also look at car-part dot com. They seem to have lots of cruisers being parted out across the country.

I took mine out because that POS air box is always in my way.
