I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever replaced a motor in 95 4runner v6. I'm thinking about doing it myself, if anyone has any info, or maybe some tricks to doing it that would be great.

I assume that this is for a 3VZ 3.0 liter V6?
Or does this have the 3.4liter v6?

IF you hvae the 3.0 liter,
I did this myself about 4 months ago.
It's a pretty big project.
Be prepared to drop about $3200 to have it done right.

You could simply find a junkyard spare engine. Most with 130,000 miles will run about $1500. Swapping it could take you a weekend if you're handy, however, the 3.0 is known for head gasket issues, so you should at the very least replace those while doing the swap. A head gasket kit is around $130 with OEM head gaskets, seals, etc.
Replace the head bolts DO NOT REUSE THEM.
-There are aftermarket head bolts available that are stronger than the stock head bolts for $35-75

Engnbldr.com has good prices on head bolts, head gasket kits, valves, and rebuild kits.

If you are interested in a bigger project, and the body of the truck is in excellent condition, you may consider doing a 5VZ swap. Thats the 3.4 liter v6 from a later tacoma 4Runner or Tundra.
This will take a great deal of time and money. But the results have been shown to be well worth it.

Here is a pic and a LINK

Have fun.
