We can't make it this year but get on as many runs as you can. Maybe one of these years we can get a Beach N Toy's run to Moab on our own. Cruise Moab is great when it's your first time out or you want to socialize with lots of cruiserheads. However, the downside (of any big event) is sometimes you get on runs that struggle to maintain a good pace . More vehicles means more chance of breakdowns and even highly variable driver experience can impact the day's pace. But, the run leaders are usually very experienced and it's a great way to get the lay of the land.
Also, the town often raises hotel rates when it knows a big event is heading in. If we were to get a club run, we could enjoy a quieter version of Moab. I did got out there 2 years ago with the fam in the RV. We didn't wheel, made it an MTB trip, but there were no events so the trail traffic was fairly light.
Please post lots of pics! Web wheeling is better than no wheeling.
