Anyone good with trees? (1 Viewer)

When I bought my house, the insurance company required that I trim/cut back some of the trees hitting the house.

This tree was right next to the house and the only one that had me thinking twice:

Does anyone have an idea of what kind of tree it is? I think it's a type of maple...

Not an expert, but before you slice that up, might be worth having a wood turner come by to take a look at those burls on the tree. Those guys love that stuff for woodturning.

Those burls are sweet! I was tryin to sell that stick for you today. I'll take a look at the vid. I'm not a ct licensed arborist but confident with tree work. I may be interested in dropping it for you and using the trunk with the burls as an integration in a tree house.
