Hey, I'm originally from Seymour, but moved to the KC area almost a decade ago. I've had "Elsy" for about a month now, and am anxious to take her out! If all goes according to planned I will be at the SMORR facility thur, or fri, but was thinking it'd be cool to meet some new friends, and have someone more familiar with the trails to share some tips like what trails are good, what trails are doable in nearly stock form, etc. Thanks for the input in advance. Happy wheeling. :D

I will look at the map and give you some trail choices. You might check and make sure they are open. He has strange schedules. Would love to wheel some but have and easter weekend full of activities.

Rekut, I followed your advice. The call went to vm, but the calendar says they're open Fri, and Sat. I'm leaning more towards Fri.

I am actually considering going this Saturday...Need to try the 40 out, make sure all is working properly. The weather may not cooperate though, calling for a chance of T/storms...without a top might not make for the best conditions, we'll see! (can't make Friday must work)

Sat would be a stretch for me, I want to give myself a bit of time in case of breakage. Sorry for the short notice, this was impromptu

You say a nearly stock rig. A good place to start is peewee crossing. Its just behind camp. It has a lot of intersecting maze of trials just behind camp. You can go up and down a decent number of trails that get taller the farther you go. You can then wind along on peewee all the way out the end of it. It follows a creek back and forth to the middle of the park.

From there you can follow ranch road all the way back to cliff creek and keller circle. Then you can get back on ranch road and take it to the end.

If its not wet you can make it up brixey hill to high mountain road. I have taken many unlocked trucks up that hill dry, but have also had several locked trucks not make it up it wet. Two completely different animals.

You can run high mountain around to cherokee pass and back to high mountain. Dont drop off high mountain pass unless you feeling xtra tall. I dont know your wheeling ability. You cant go up it for sure.

YOU can also stay on high mountain over to where it drops off to rocky road but that has gotten rough and cant guarantee youll get back up it.

With a stock truck and no backup I would be very hesitant to get on any 3's. Wet they easily turn into 4's. With some more trucks you could get around other places but by yourself its a different story.

Thanks for the pointers Thad, hopefully I'll get some good pics of the maiden voyage!

Will you still be there Saturday?

Who??

The guy who is going to be there Friday, who else?

I will not be there on Friday.

Ok, Ok...somebody is going to be there Friday, I think:hhmm:

Regardless, I am going to try and go out Saturday. I have been doing some work on the 40 and need to run it to make sure it is good to go. I would welcome some company!

I don't know who else. Three post above your question he said he was doubtful for Saturday. I can't control you drinking and posting tendencies.

I'm sorry, but I cannot stay til Sat. I will be heading to SMORR in the a.m. though should hit the gates around 8-9. :)

Missing the comforts of your 80 yet?

Well....not yet. It was quite nice there. Never even got rained on. Weather was great! Phone died and did not get but a couple of pics. Ended up going down on Friday after all.

How much money do you owe the club kitty?

Ha! You only wish! I did use the winch to rescue someone stuck at the bottom of adventure hill. It was a muddy mess. I was quite impressed with 40. We ran several tough trails (wet and muddy) without incident.

Lol, I must say the winch was awesome! I got a few pics I'll post when I have time after I get home of your beautiful 40 winching my stuck 80 from that mess. Also I must say that the 40 a lot better backing up that hill than I did sliding down it. :-)

I was going to keep it anonymous...(well maybe :D) but pics will be great!
