That's just a hop and a skip away, (less than an hour for me). I actually never heard of it before. As close as it is (for us c. bumkins), we should check it out.
I've been there a couple of times. There are some trails but its pretty small. Its basically just some farmers property that he lets people go 4 wheeling on. there are a couple of large ponds you can camp around if you want to. last time I was there the entrance fee was only $5.00.

I'll try to find some of the pics from my trip. I went with a Range Rover group and they took all the pics. I wouldn't mind goin there again sometime. It's not too expensive.
Id like to go there but keep in mind I have basically a stock truck, no lockers no REAL lift...no sliders and no aggro tires (im running Michelin LTX and Cooper Discoverer (R and FT respectively) and I dont want to get into too much trouble. Plus IH8MUD! Lost my last vehicle in the mud and I dont want to lose another!
Ok. I think Dirtoyboy and I are gonna go to Potowatomi on Friday 7/11 in the morning. We'll wheel all day and camp there that night. then go to the XRRA event in Hannibal on saturday. If anyone i interested in going post it up!

Damn, 2 days before I go get my rig, oh well she won't be in any shape to be driven for at least a couple of weeks, but I hope to get some trail time in before the fall.
Its OK Dan when we get yer 80 going we can go up and hit the less extreme trails. I know I cant keep up with these guys toys on the hard trails anyway. Maybe one day, once I have a new house and maybe in 15 years when the kids are on their own. LOL!
Well we went and I was not really impressed....the trail systems were not maintained very well and the camp site was littered with trash. There were literally piles of cans and beer bottles everywhere...broken glass..
The lake wasnt that really good for swimming either (more of a cow pond)
