anybody interested in a Sat or Sun. (Jan. 20or21) run in the snow?

I'll be up there, but with the scout troop at Snow Valley - staying in Green Valley Lake. It'll be tough not taking a quick left down to Crab Flats instead, but I'll have to stay the course on into Green Valley Lake.

Better get up there now.. cause there wont be much left this weekend. We are do for a little rainfall tonight though so that could potentially drop some more.

Id love to go, but two weekends in the row would put me in the dog house, not to mention im under the weather.

Have fun!

At least it's been damn cold enough for them to be making as much snow as they have capacity for. Snow Valley isn't much of a hill, but the kids have fun.

Yeah, thats true.. just watch out for all the morons. Every dope that has a car is up there, whether they know how to drive or not. I saw quite a few ID10t's last weekend.. and oh yeah Leave early.. took us almost 2 hours to get down the mtn. Everyone leaves at the same time;)

If it doesn't work out Mark you are welcome to join us down at Borrego this Sat. Not super challenging but nice to get out.

Always worried about asshat SoCal drivers in the local mountains. There's a reason CHP tells them to put chains on at the first sign of snowflakes. There's no substitute for driving experience on snow. All bets are off on ice! What's sad is that SoCal'ers think they are invincible in either a 4wd or with chains. No accounting for stupidity and ignorance. Slow the F down!

Unfortunately, we'll fight the traffic up on Friday evening, but will leave Sunday before the rush down the mountain. We're only skiing on Saturday.

Damn you Mark! I have to be out of town this weekend and you post this up!

I really want to get up there - hope you have fun if you do go! But like everyone else said, leave early.

Mark, if there is still some snow (the natural stuff) on some of the north side slopes I think I'll go up from Silverwood with my 5 yr old for some backcountry sledding.

gotta check and see just how they're closing down the I-15 over the pass though to avoid any traffic surprises. The typical routes on the southern slope are sure to be super-packed all weekend
