Trying this again before I go the harder more expensive route

My rig came with caster correction bushings (not sure what brand) but it's not enough for my 4"-ish lift. Puts me a 0º caster on both sides. I have Landtank plates I want to install but I need OEM bushings first. Anybody want to trade radius arms - just swap from one rig to the other?

This would be perfect for a 2"ish lifted truck. Mine's a '96...

Why not use both? Even with plates, my truck feels like it still needs more.

What's your caster at? I thought about it - but everybody advises against it. Not sure why, maybe because of the angle of the caster bushings. I even told Slee I had my tie rod moved up front and still didn't recommend bushings + plates.

Not sure what the measurement is, haven't had time for an alignment yet. Maybe things start to rub?

On a rig with stock steering it would, where the tie rod is behind the axle. It would rub on the control arms. On mine with the different steering, not sure. I should post a thread in the 80 section...

Gotcha, thanks.

I'm down, but my bushings are not exactly new. That and with my water pump dying a slow death, cant really drive to ya.

Water pump will be replaced this weekend, so the rig will be down for most of Saturday. Might be a good day to pull them out and swap if you want to drive up here. Could have some of the other guys come up and bbq though.

looks like matt will trade ya. go with oem. I have slee4" springs and got a little more than that out of them, and went with landtank plates and I am at like 2.0 on one side and 2.3 on the otherside :)

I'm still up for the swap. Will be in Sac area Saturday picking up kids, and severing the ex with papers (YEAH!) so i may have time. That or during the camping trip in July, how long you think 30+ LC guys would take to swap arms, ha!

3 bolts per side, i cant image it would be that hard. Bring your plates though, driving home with no castor correction would be eye opening. I've been driving like this for over a year, and my fiance has been driving it, so its not too bad.

Yeah you know, I think we may have to hold off on this for now. I bought a used set of Landtank plates so it will require some drilling and a right angle drill. I think when I get the holes drilled, I'll drive up to your place and switch. I'd hate to drive home from Gold Lake at -4º of caster!
