Any Six Speed Owners Here?

Truth be told, I don't think I'll go this route because it will cost a few thousand more and still not get me as much power as a 5.3. That said, however, I would love to drop a Toyota drivetrain into my '87 FJ60 to keep it all Toyota and bragging rights. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who owns a six speed Tacoma or FJ Cruiser, so I don't know how they behave. I'd appreciate it if anyone here could share their experiences.

What info are you wanting? I love the 6MT, especially with the URD short shifter. It's still a truck transmission though and won't fire off lightning quick shifts, but the gearing is well spaced with a decently low first gear.

It'd probably be a PITA to do, but it would be awesome. While a 5.3 or 6.0 would be much easier to do, I haven't found many good manual transmissions with a low first gear that would work with them. I'm not a big fan of auto transmissions, but they're easier to use in the rocks.

Thanks. I was curious how it drove. Took me a bit of digging, but I found out yesterday that the trucks still use an electric transfer case and the FJ Cruisers are full time four wheel drive. Not really what I'm looking for. :/ Oh well...
