I still did not take my test, am still studying and hopefully in April or May.

Yes I took mine and I passed!! Waiting on it to be updated in the ULS? database. Wasn't really as bad as I thought. Pillguy you should have an easy time it you have been studying. I did not study real hard.. just took the online test a bunch and read the ARRL Handbook for Technician liscense.

Check the FCC Web Page. I don't have the exact link, but somewhere on there, there is a list of new licenses issued. It's updated every business day. Once your name and call sign appear, you are good to go. Should be no more than a week to 10 days after taking the test.
You may also be able to do a look up based on your FRN number. If you don't have your FCC Registration Number, you should look into that also. When I got my license it was issued automatically. Not sure what the procedure is now. The FRN is what you use to make any changes to your official record, such as change of address, license renewal etc.
Your best bet is to check the FCC web page.
Would you be allowed to use a "ham" radio if you are Jewish? I took my "Dixie cup" radio test and failed cause the string kept breaking.HAM this! As much as I hate to admit it you're now officially part of our madness. welcome aboard despite me not voting for you tonight.
Yes, I imagine it is difficult to keep the string from breaking when you are rolling downhill....backward....with your eyes closed.
