it works like a glorified see saw...

they are designed to limit torsional twisting during articulation..

Kind of a bandaid.. I have seen leaf sprung rigs flex like mad without one of those..

As far as strength is concerned it is a strong as you make it. they typically are homebuilt.. most companies will not sell a pivot based purely on a bolt...

Seems like you would need Really flat springs if you hoped to keep your rig low, esspecially since those must effect stability.

Yep, and that is a DS drop with coils on it

Bet it is a bronco..

lol,

similiar to the revolving eye AOR springs. Which my buddy does run a pair and they do work very very well.

The only way to get anywhere near that kind of movement in a standard leaf spring is to have very large eyes with a large soft bushings, but they wear out pretty quick.

So sounds like not too good of an idea? Seems like it would help with spring life, no?

I agree with slower, looks like that thing will add at least 2" to your height, I dont' know bout you but I'm all about low COG

I'm told 2" is about right

Ok, so i might lift your truck about 2in, but you can conpensate by shackles or somthin.......but other than the lift, I'm wondering if it is a good idea....the only thing i could see is that maybe it could cause some unsability on the road???

Wow - that doesn't really look safe to me at all. If people are scared to re-use Ubolts then wait till they see that contraption.

Isn't the pivot in the completely wrong postition to do any "real" movement? The spring bushings will have to take all the abuse before that thing does anything, all I can see is that you could drive just right and get your entire axle to move laterally to one side of the vehicle in order to fling more mud on your passengers that way.

But shorter shackles can limit your travel and alter pinion angles.

A reversed spring will wear out quickly anyways.

I run a Johnny Joint for a rear shackle mount and have noticed a SLIGHT differance in articulation.

In my mind, if you want big travel (Overrated) go to a linked setup and be done.

Leaf springs are a great compromise between budget and articulation in my opinion.
