another spark plug thread

Time to change the plugs, and I cruised through the forum for any info. I read the threads, watched the video, and today was the day.
Getting to the plugs was not as bad as it looked, and nowhere near as bad as s oem of the threads made it seem.
But...
I had DOZENS of spark plug sockets i have collected over the years, and not one fits down inside to get these plugs!
I went to Sears, and even bought the one they had that I didn't, and still it wont fit.
What is the secret?

I just changed my plugs the other day. I used a cheapo 16mm spark plug socket that I had laying around, worked great. What exactly is the problem? Is the socket to fat to go down the hole? I had plenty of room in that department with my socket.

Any of my 3/8"-drive spark plug sockets fit just fine. Need at least a 6" extension to reach them though.

It's all about the extension... the Drivers side requires a longer reach as you can see in this video. Changing FJ Cruiser spark plugs
