I just got back to Fort Worth, TX from driving to Grain Valley, MO (right outside of Kansas City). I ordered a high clearance rear bumper from Garett at Valley Tech on May 4 and he reached out on July 19th to let me know the bumper is ready to go. Right around 10 weeks so earlier than his 12-16 week turnaround time stated on the website.

I cannot say enough good things about Garret at Valley Tech Fabrications! The moment I placed the order, which was right after Toyota Jamboree, he immediately reached out to talk through the options I selected and reviewed any alternates I may want. I changed the options a few times and he was very flexible and gave me a final heads up when he started on my bumper to make sure I'm good with the final buildout.

I want to note that I also have the 24 gallon Long Range America fuel tank and he made sure there was no compatibility issues. I believe it's the first LRA with his high clearance bumper.

I decided to do a pick up instead of shipping just to make an excuse out of taking a trip out to a new city. Garret was EXTREMELY accommodating, even offered to let me drive his 80 series around if I wanted to step away. I took an e-bike so I rode around town and did some work at a local coffee shop. He even redirected my exhaust so I can immediately have the high clearance in the rear!! He also did this installation free of charge! One of the many reasons I decided to drive up because working on a installation in DFW Summer heat is not something I look forward to.

Pic of the clearance and the side exit exhaust he did for me. The LRA 24gallon is still nicely tucked well within the design.

Me heading back from the 1500+ miles round trip within 72 hours.

Mocking up all of the accessories I had in the garage after selling the terribly designed Wilco.

All in all, Valley Tech has a customer for life and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Garret to anyone! It was quite the ambitious drive for a part but well worth the experience and quite the story to tell.

I had a similar experience with ValleyTech. Excellent product that has held up well for me.

This is great to hear as I'm patiently waiting for mine, Garret has been awesome so far. I'm also planning on an aux tank in the future and would love to see some detailed pics of that and the exhaust if you have a chance.

Excuse the messy wiring, I wanted to plug my dash cam back in but will clean it up after the summer heat goes away. Hope this helps!

Looks killer. I assume you did the powder coating through Garret? How did it come out? I was going to do that as well, but he said he couldn't guarantee it would make it to NJ without getting damaged.

The finish is perfect from what I can tell.. I used a impact driver installing the Rotopax and Maxtrax mounts and the powdercoating wasn't damaged or anything.

I installed mine, and used Rustoleum bed liner. It does not require primer, looks great, and has stuck extremely well. The benefits are its easy to repair inevitable scratches and its significantly cheaper than powder coat.

Bisho- do you have close up pics? I'm thinking about doing this when I get sliders and armor for the FJ.

Did you use spray on or brush on?
