I have tried on several occations this evening to reply to threads and was greeted with the following:
  1. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 3 characters.
This after a couple paragraphs of typing. I would consider once or twice an odd thing but more than four times? It's just not normal for Firefox to be running so poorly. Couple this with the gibberish and pics issues it is becoming a PITA. As mentioned in the other thread it is only with MUD so far, no other web sites or BB have a problem. That's not to say MUD is the culprit but just the outlet. I sure hope something is found. Thanks guys.

i run firefox exclusively....1.5.0.7 on my home laptop, and 2.0 beta on my office desktop....neither has ever experienced those issues

hate it when I can't duplicate a problem, makes solving it nearly impossible....

just an fyi im running firefox 1.5.0.7 also and am still having partial page loads

what extensions? possible one of those is creating an issue....or a lack of extensions, perhaps....

the only extension i have is "download statusbar"

not one I run....tho I do run a few others....

wish I could help, but I can't recreate the problem, on 3 different computers....

few more little things. i cant select any of the smilies to put in a post and im not sure if this is just a forum change but when i select thread tools it doesnt have a pull down menu like it used to. it just scrolls down the page. im going to try to disable the extension and see if it has any effect

the thread tools work for me, even when not logged into the forum (guest status)

you've logged out, cleared cookies, and logged back in?

yup and i uninstalled the extension

also just noticed i cant upload pictures with ie or firefox and also i just got a partially loaded page in ie.

reallly weird

is it possible you've got an virus software installed that changed settings recently?

I'm running 1.5.0.7 as well with no extensions. I haven't found any changes to my virus or spyware programs.

I routinely delete cookies and all other crap that gets loaded.

I must have some issue on my laptop because just as soon as I submitted the above I had part of the page flake out with garbled code and I'n currently using IE. AAAARRRHH this sucks when the problem is easy to find.

I tried to login while using Firefox, no go many times even after resetting my password. I keep getting the following:

Sorry for adding more stuff to the pile. After all this I'm pretty certain I have the issues but I'm not that much of a computer nut to do anything more than checking what all the programs are doing. If you could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

wish I knew where to point you to...I'm as lost as you are on why this is happening...

Well I made a few changes that worked for most of today. I messed around with Norton's and another spyware program. Some of the settings I think I'll have to alter. More importantly after a few full scans I found a worm. I can't be sure that the issue because I'm still having issues but they are less frequent. I would attribute nothing to trying the new 2.0 beta Firefox. If/when I get a better handle on it I'll pass it on.

Oh, I like the spellcheck that's built in now. All we need now is a grammar checker.

Thanks Woody!

did a 3.6.2 upgrade this morning, "hopefully" a few oddities are fixed in this version....

ya, some of the stuff in Firefox 2.0 are pretty kewl, and the spellcheck is nice!

firefox 1.0.4 here, all is well...

(well, except for some of the guys in Chat...! :D )
