hey dudes.
my name is chris.
i live in tremont with my wife.
i just picked up a 96 LC.

its awesome.
i need to baseline it and at least repack and reseal the birfs.
might as well do the whole axle, right?
sitting at 160k....

so, any other 80 owners around?
i would love to get another cruiserhead's opinion on where to start with this beasty.

no plans to wheel it, just wanted something that was built like a swiss watch and able to handle the impending zombie apocalypse in style and grace.

i've got 315's on it and now i'm thinking i need a 2.5 medium duty slee kit.

As far as in Cle proper there are not very many of us. I live in Lakewood and have a sadly neglected 40 that I have not been able to drive much this year. If you are going into the Birfs, just order the full bearing kit and the marlin seals for the inners and be done with it.

I am a bit or a cycling geek myself... you Road or Mtn these days? Actually, went to a Halloween party last night as Lance Armst-Wrong, with the full "LIVES-WRONG" team kit, a bottle of EPO, and a hyperdemic needle hanging out of my arm.

Only 3 bikes in service currently, One on the stand under construction.
Been slacking the last few weeks, down to about 60 miles a week instead of 100 which was most of the summer.
