Dear fellow 70 cruiser owners...
I did a funny mod on my 1987 LC 70 (short one) and swapped my 2L-T out the 12H-T engine from a 60 series and changed it from 24 volts to 12 volts.
I had to use my old alternator though and built my own bracket for it which works fine. the stock 2L-T alt is small though, only about 40 amps or so and I need more current to keep up...
I am told that various alternators from Hyundai (Galloper for an example) produce around 100 amps and have the vacuum pump that I need for braking and shutting off the engine.
as the stock alternator had an external charging cut-out box and the galloper one (and almost all others I can lay my hands on) have an internal cut-out, I need to know how to connect a new alternator....
does anyone have a diagram or some information on this issue? I have tried to search this forum and others for clues but have not found any.. please help me if you can.
