My radio and CB radio have developed static that is directly related to the rpms of the engine. It has started within the last 2 months and gotten worse. I hooked up the battery charger to see if it was drained and it was about half dead. After I did this it was good for 3 weeks or so and again started with the engine noise. Hooked the charger up this morning and the battery is down some. I'm going to get the alt and the battery checked, but plan on getting a new alt anyway since the battery is fairly new.

Question I have is this: Is there a larger alternator that I can get at the parts house and install without major modifications?

Edit: found this online http://www.maniacelectricmotors.com/hiou120amp1914.html as well as this http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1s...-battery-battery-separator-big-3-upgrade.html but the GM is a little more than I want to pay. I prefer not to order online parts if I can get something local where I can put my hands on it, so I looked further.

Does anyone know the difference in bolt hole spacing between the early Tundra and Tacoma alternators? http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/we...s-Beck-Arnley_20576944-P_11_R|GRPALTSAMS_____
