Like the alternate early 36 spline steering wheel I posted last week, I just thought I'd throw this out there... If you're looking for the early fender mounted turn signals lens in red or clear I found a source. I am making the double sided turn signals found on the FJ35V for my build and someone here on the board pointed me to a source in Australia. I found them at $65 a pair plus shipping and out of stock. So I started searching and found one at of all places Pep Boys. They are not identical to the factory lens, but pretty darn close. It takes a minimal amount of work but the price is right. The lens in red comes sealed to a cheap brake light at $10 each and a clear turn signal for $20 each. I cut each lens from the plastic housing with a Dremel cutting wheel and then used a sander to grind the lens to the proper diameter. Each took about 20 minutes to make. Left and right are Pep Boys, Amber is OEM. Note the lens pattern itself is a pretty good match.
