Alloy Wheel Corrosion
The alloy wheels on my '80 are corroding everywhere the metal gets the slightest ding. How can I stop the corrosion?
It looks sort of looks random although worse around the rim weights. So it possibly has to do with balancing weight chemistry and (I'm guessing) some change in the metal of the wheel weight. Or maybe it's just the wheel metal itself and some protective surface has worn off?
Or maybe it's the tire rubber. Anyone know? We don't have much salt on the roads here in Colorado, but maybe that has changed too.
thanks, rScotty
