Posting photos from All-4-Fun that describe the event, especially those that show where it may differ from other similar events.
First is beer/wine tent which is free but a charitable donation is expected. Second shows kids tent where games and lots of activities take place. Third is sales trailer for shirts, hats, glasses, etc. Fourth is trail sign-up board which opens at 6:00 and you choose your trail. Last is main tent with no tables cluttering the area.
Something new this year is what they call vehicle games, but I call racing. Two rigs running in opposite directions WFO. I got screwed in it cause I won my first heat and they said I was done until the finals the next evening. So I went and relaxed and drank a couple of beers watching others race. Suddenly they told I was up again. I'm going but, but...... Well I ran but couldn't keep it between the cones. First shot is a photo finish they called a tie but on runoff the silver Jeep won again and went on to take the $100.
Here's another shot of the trail signup board. If your not inline for the more popular (difficult) trips you may miss out, but the easier trips always have room. But there is always the next day. The easier trips all have outstanding scenery so it's all good.
Not sure how long they've been using the board but this is their 47th year running this event so just about everything they do works very well. You have to stand in line some but there are many advantages such as running with friends made at the event, picking trails based on weather changes or simply changing your mind.
Today we drove what is probably my favorite trail of the week. Champion Mine Road goes up above 13,000' but forgot to look at GPS for a good number. Very exposed lunch spot but the wind was light and sun strong.
