Hey! Is anyone running the AMT this year? I’ve seen some nice trail reports in the past but not much chatter this year.

One group went last week but after spending a couple days on the wrong route, they back track to Kluskoil lake ran into lots of downfall past the lake and called it quits before getting too far.

There is an Alberta Land Rover trip planned for later in July, looks like they are planning to run West to East and they have experience completing the trail before. Hopefully they have some good man power to deal with two years of mother nature’s abuse.

I’m headed with a small group at the end of August, preparing for lots of down fall and looking forward to the challenge of the trail!

I live in Quesnel and that group just went through. They reported low water levels and say that it is quite clear right now.

Use extra care to prevent fires as there are a couple of big ones in the area and the region is very dry. Also, use caution if anyone is allergic to wasps, some muddy areas are swarming with them. Buddy of mine got stung twice in ten minutes while we were on the Quesnel Canyon Crawl a week ago.

Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip because of the fires. Don’t want to take the chance of getting caught in one, I’ve been watching posts from the Eliguk Lake lodge, they have 3-4 fires around them and have been preparing for weeks to save their buildings.

Where are you coming from? I'm in Nazko on a regular basis and I always keep my ears open for info on the trail conditions.

Not much on forums unfortunately. Pretty bummed OLC is gone, just research on bc4x4, or bcjeepclub sometimes. You?
