Who's up for seeing an awesome Air Show? A group of us are going to be watching the Air Show from the desert north of the airport on Sat. or Sun. Post up and let us know which day we should set this for. Bring sunscreen, chairs, camera, a cool Toyota 4X4, water and the kiddos. Mild offroad to get to where we will be setting up the official viewing station. Post up here or on the facebook page :cheers:people!!!

Good chance I can come Saturday but busy Sunday. Will this be all day? From to?

I can come either day and look forward to it!

For those not in the know, the desert north of town is usually all inaccessible during the airshow. This is a unique opportunity to get out there.

Looks like performances start at about 10am and go through the day. I'll see if I can program some air-to-ground/air-to-air channels into my radio.

It'll be a great day to get the FoxWing some action.

Im good with Saturday if everyone else is.

We heard about this in the blue room and would love to join if its on Saturday. If not- no worries

Bill says it's going to be Saturday. I plan to be there and waiting to hear meetup location.

My plans for the weekend: heading to 18 Mile Road campground today, get in some MTB riding, air show Saturday, then working with COPMOBA Sunday to improve the Kessel Run trail. Any MTB riders that might be interested in the latter here are details; meet at 18 mi rd parking lot under the shelter at 10:30. We will be placing rock barriers to keep lazy/stupid riders on the trail and general improvements. COPMOBA will provide a cookout and swag afterwards and there will be some riding too.

Meeting will be Saturday at 9:00am. Bill will be posting details in a couple of hours.

Does anyone have a mobile wifi hotspot with unlimited data? If so, we can stream all of the communications.

UPDATE

We will be meeting at the gas station 29 and Patterson at 9 AM Saturday, you will have time to fuel up, grab some water and snacks. Plan on being in the desert from 10 - 4ish. The Blue Angels go on at 3 PM. We are brining burgers and hot dogs and will be having a grill going. So lunch will be on us. Bring plenty of water, a comfy chair, sun screen, and an easy up if you have one. This will be a great event with an epic view. See you all at 9am. :grinpimp:

Where are really enjoying the show. Just three rigs. What happened to the rest?

Great Photo Ace! Well, 3 of us made it and had a great time there. I think some of the reason for the low attendance was the late notice, that said we would love to see more of you out there on these runs. We see by the page hits that a lot of people are looking both here and on Facebook but participation continues to be pretty sparse at times. Anyways, as all runs go it's really a matter of if people are interested and available they will attend and if not they wont. Regardless, the three of us had an excellent time and truly had the best location out in the desert. Bill worked his magic to ensure easy access and it was good to see all of the law enforcement representation from The SO and PD. We really appreciated them being out their. How about some pics?

Was planning to be there. Got the plans a little too late for driving from eagle.

Sorry we missed the run, at the last minute a friend gave us VIP passes. I think the photo ops look better from the the desert side. Very impressive photos you guys got.

VIP passes would be hard to pass up. We were literally 50 yards from the "crash zone" and on several occasions had a plane go directly over us or circle around. The only thing we missed was the announcers voice which would have been nice to have. We were streaming all of the ATC and Air-to-Air traffic though which was cool. Hope to do it again in a few years.

Lots of comments about the air show in FJ Cruiser forum. I directed them here to see photos but it would be great to post some there too.
