Is the TRD cold air coming out? I see that some say soon, then no, .....Would it just be best to go with the Toy reusable filter if the CAI is not out?

The FJC has "cold air" off the dealer lot. I've not seen enough data, showing increased performance, that would justify the $$$ for a TRD unit. I just drop in a "re-usable, high flow" filter and put the $$$ elsewhere...

That is what I figured.....and since you responded, Mtbcoach, your cruiser is perty nice....what is the added emblem in your grill?

Jerry, your rig is one capable bad ass cruiser, I hope to see you make the trip to Rausch one day.

I thought these were already out. And I thought the benefit came from the filter being enclosed (but still able to work with a snorkel) and not having as many bends in the tubing as the stock unit. I'm not an engineer, so I have no idea how it actually works, but it certainly seems to do the job pretty well on my car. Haven't bought one for the truck yet, as I've heard that it's not worth it. Also, the stock intake tube has those "wrinkles" in it. I tend to think air would flow better when it's allowed to go straight and smooth. But like I said, these are merely theories of mine and I'm not exactly trying to make my FJ into a horsepower freak or anything like that. That, and most of my funds go into fixing what I break. Hahaha!!! If you have disposable income and access to a dyno and a tuner, you can probably test out these theories if you wanted, but even if I was right, it's probably still cheaper to fab your own.
