I'm a '60 guy - I know very little about FJ40s...it seems like a good deal to me?

"come see make offer... so far best offer is at 1600. been sitting good frame and much more ....modified with 400ci chevy, roll cage, 35" tires (good rubber) been sitting in barn. ran when it went in. will need full brakes, exhaust and going through to get it going. great restoration project with all the usual upgrades. good frame-saginaw ps-full rollcage-locked rear(welded?) extra axles(2)/trannytransfer(3spd)"

Any advice is appreciated...

I'd offer $1601. Assume all the seals are shot cuz you don't know how long it's been sitting our how good the engine was before it sat. All of those things that need to be done will cost thousands. Plenty of rust on the back bed.

I'd be hesitant to do anything near $2K. You'd be better off buying one for $4K that is ready to go. You'd save a ton of money in the long run.

Is this going to be a a trail rig or a weekend runner?

Dreaming

Essentially dreaming at this point....it truly is an addiction.

I've sent the owner an e-mail requesting more information/photos...

I'll post any information I get here in case anyone else may be potentially interested.

Thanks,
jake

I would be a little hesitant with the quick and shoddy primer job. However, it has a good list o stuff with it, and might be a really good start. If you are going to wheel it, it seems to have some goodies.

Check out the rear latch...looks like a drop tailgate. Otherwise the latch would be in the center for that year.

If it is, and it is decent, it is worth money.

Mine looks like that because I welded the two stock doors together, and moved the latch to the side.

I would at least go look at it.

over

Okay.....dream is over......I had the feeling that it had been for sale for a while

Thanks for your help...
