Accord overheated, melted overflow tank ! (1 Viewer)

Rad cap rubber melted, and spring loose.

Fans working, oil low, but ok. Not milkshaked.

Filled rad back up, n water flowed past open neck, did not geyser or surge.

Not wet at tailpipe. No rattles or knocks. Idle and accel fine.

Rad changed 6 months ago after spontaneous crack, Asian fluid from NAPA.

Any idea what could cause enuf heat to melt resv cap, nipple, and rad cap ?

Was100 last couple days, and she was running AC on high, up a long hill, but still....

I did bleed the accord on ramps

any ideas out there?

Thermostat on the way with replace tank, and a EGR gasket.

dont wanna end up with....
