I am hoping for some help. I just bought a 95 Landcruiser, and want to outfit now. I am going to useit as a hunting/travel vehicle. Can anyone suggest websites for accesories? Also what are the best repair manuals, I saw an ad for Chiltons.
Thank you for all you help.

wow.. hit up the faq.. manual talk many times FSM, light, winch, lift, tires, gears, high lift, first aid kit, camping gear, arb fridge, gotta let us know what you want to be doing with the rig I mean hunting?? there is a cool drawer for the back the put guns and ammo in. you should by a divider for keeping dogs in the rear.

we need some more info and for you t spend some times in the FAQ, tech links and the 80 series FAQ.

Jeep is the name I have always had...I traded my last jeep today for the landcruiser. I meant like grill guards, cargo racks, lights, snorkle etc. I will spend most of my time driving on the ranch in S. Texas. Sorry I was so specific I didn't know all Landcruiser owners were so touchy.
Thanks anyway

The Outfitting section here on IH8MUD covers topics that are not vehicle-specific. Some of what you are asking would be covered here. Other questions about your specific vehicle (80-Series) would best be asked in that section, along with an introduction of yourself and a brief discussion of how you plan to use your truck.

Typically, we recommend *not* installing the "grill guard" type of accessory as you will likely find out when you ask your question in the 80-Section.

There have been several discussion on roof racks here in the Outfitting section as well as the 80-Section. You may choose to search that topic in both areas so you can get pictures and past discussions on those topics.

As for the manuals, the Chilton manual is a poor choice but not worthless. I use it as additional information to the FSM (Factory Service Manual). You will want to get a hard copy of the FSM. There was a recent reply by Raven to this same question (80-Section) giving links to where to get the manuals along with how to get the electronic versions from the TIS web site.

Introduce yourself to the 80-Section FAQ as it has a lot of great information. The ROTW series will also give you a good idea on how others have set up their rigs; expedition, rock crawling, bling-bling, daily driver, boat hauler, etc.

A good place to start for web sites would be the vendor section here on 'Mud. As mentioned by LavaRunner, Slee Offroad is one of the vendors that specializes in outfitting for the 80-Series Toyota Land Cruiser and the LX450 variant.... but there are others and, as someone new to the 80-Series, you will want to familiarize yourself with all of the vendors, then select what accessory you want from the supplier that best meets your needs.

The good news is that you don't have to wade through hundreds of suppliers like you would have to do in the Jeep world. The bad news is that you don't have hundreds of suppliers to choose from. Double-edged sword so to speak. For the most part, each of the vendors that support 'Mud are excellent choices. If they can't supply good products and good customer support in this niche market then they don't last long.

JeepTX read these responses on 10/30/2006 at around 8am but he hasn't replied so I don't know if he's still a little pi$$ed or maybe just overwhelmed with the complexity of this forum (FAQ, Banner ads, 80-Section, Outfitting section, ROTW.)

I'm sure it seems overwhelming to a newbie.
