I've got a 1991 Toyota 4wd pickup with an acceleration problem. When I'm accelerating, the truck will start to hesitate and kinda sputter when I'm at the bottom of a gear. Any ideas?

Fuel filter maybe........

Fuel filter

That's what I was kinda thinking too. How often does that get changed. I've heard every 60k....

For me its usually when it gets plugged.....

I've heard that if the fuel filter is the problem, the hesitation occurs at the top of the gear, at a high rpm. The hesistation is happening mainly in gears 1 & 2 when I first engage them. Does the problem sound like it's transmission related?

check your MAF (mass air flow meter) that will cause your truck to act that way also try disconnecting your battery to reset your computer . i don't think it would be transmission related if the engine is falling on it's face
