Hey guys,

Trying to get my AC system back online in my 2006, had a burned out compressor and I believe the MG CLT relay. Replaced the compressor and condenser, and swapped the fuse block with a used one. Still have the dreaded blinking AC light.

As part of the troubleshooting I am attempting to run the AC DTC procedure, but it's not responding. No blinking lights and no codes. I am holding the AUTO and Recirc buttons then turning key to on / starting (tried both). Pulled the ACC and AC fuses for 30secs, still no joy.

Any thoughts? Bad AC amplifier?

Are your buttons definitely working? It's fairly common, at least on early years, for the buttons to get flaky. If they're toggling the fresh/recirc and AC on/off then that's probably not the issue though.

Yeah they work normally otherwise.

Closing the mystery. Bad AC amp.

Had one on the bench for a future nav delete and it engaged the AC correctly. It’s the wrong part, so didn’t have full control of the system (couldn’t turn it off etc).

New (used) AC Amp installed. DTC procedure is now working. But AC still not working. Got DTC Code 22, indicating speed difference in engine and compressor when it tries to run.

The fun continues...

OHM test shows ~930. FSM specs 65-125, ordering a Denso which I meant to do the first time but mistakenly ordered a GPD.

Edit:

On further study of the FSM, ohm range is 570-1050. Still stumped.

Denso compressor is installed, and now working as expected.
