The compressor was changed and that welded part is an adapter to mate the compressor to the OEM bracket. The adapter doesn’t allow for belt adjustment. Replacing the compressor most likely means rebuilding the system with r134 which I don’t want to consider any time soon.

At this point, it’s probably a better choice to put in new window regulators and rubber and pull the AC belt and come back to it later. Any harm in running without an AC belt?
