If youre looking to swap the A340F to your 1UZ. Its more work than is written in 99% of places. When you use an LS400/SC400 transmission, and the A340F from a 4Runner - the input shaft is about an inch too short. You have to pull the pump off, and swap the entire overdrive drum from the LS400/SC400 into the 4runner/t100/tacoma transmission. Then you bolt your UZ bellhousing on, and thats it. Then if youre like me and dont have a stock ecu, get a shifter from RADesigns and wham bam. Since PNR are mechanical, and the drive gears are based on solenoid triggers, you wire to the two solenoids, the lockout wire, and give it 12V as the directions for the shifter state and you will be fine. Ive used the Rail2 from RADesigns on a previous build and it has NO SPEED INPUT so if you shift from D to 1st it will absolutely try. And will slip until it grabs. I cooked a transmission doing this and couldnt figure out why until I realized I smoked the gears. For this project ill be doing their Baja shifter with the electronic deal. Good dude, cool products.
