Thanks for everyone's input on the latch. I will tinker with it a bit today and see if I can make some progress.

Apologies for the repeat post but does anyone have any ideas on this thing? Googling that number does not return anything. I think I will at least unscrew it to see if it's attached to anything on the other side of the firewall. Or maybe not. Has to be part of the AC doesn't it?

:hmm:....Something to think about for PP2020

These set-ups are hard to find now. They also required the PTO off the t-case to run the agitator. Another difficulty was the Japanese to English translation for the instruction manual - there were lots of cases where the guy would crank up the RPMs to do the laundry and end up ruining his wife's delicates. Not good!

And then you had to disconnect the washer and store it back inside the Pig, so it took up space for food/camping gear/livestock, etc.

Cool idea, but maybe a little before its time!

Looks like a part out of an old AC GE breaker panel, they probably used it as a power block or standoff at some point in your pigs life.

Well maybe I will pull it off and "investigate".

I did have success with the hood latch. Appreciate the advice. I took it all apart and with a claw hammer and a concrete curb I managed to straighten the latch support enough. I also noticed that the horizontal brace where the two bolts at the top of the support plate attach were bowed in. It's kind of an odd stand off design. By straightening those it moved things forward enough for the hood pin to hit the hole more in center. I drove it up to about 60 mph and it didn't release. Scary waiting for your hood to pop at speed even if it does have a safety catch.

Was the perfect size to cover hole in firewall, so P.O. screwed it over hole ☺. Take it OFF. It's driving me 🦍💩.

I'm thinking it was part of an electronic piece for comms.

I think it's scrapdaddy for the win. I took it off. No holes in the firewall except for where the two sheet metal screws were. There were two whip antennas on the rear quarters (bases are still there) and I think this was a splitter for the coax.

Also installed a new antenna today. Nice to pick up radio stations. That wire was a biatch to route. The old antenna wire terminated (as in stuck) behind the heater body and wasn't budging. I think that's why the new fancy stereo that BBQBoy installed didn't have FM.

If your hood fix doesn’t work out I think I have the bottom latch and support rod in my leftover parts pile. Let me know if you need it.

Appreciate the offer very much but I think it's going to work. I've driven it around a few times and so far it has stayed shut and opened on command.....so to speak.

So is this how the seat base came from the factory? It looks like it's set up for a trim piece but I can't find anything that would go there on ToyoDIY. Just curious.
