More fun. Dropped my boy off in Pagosa to hang with a friend for a few days after we spent a night at our land in Northern New Mexico. Met my cousin and his lady on the Bolam pass road for a night.

Then I headed up to the pass itself and found an awesome site at the confluence of two streams.

I noped out of my first choice when I saw a bunch of fresh, hand sized mountain lion tracks.

Woke up at 11,500’ to a dead battery. Like dead dead. Didn’t leave anything on and I’m pretty religious about battery management but the battery was 6 years old and decided 3 nights in the cold were it’s last.

Rigged up a charger from my battery bank that runs my fridge with some test leads, that was working, albeit, really slow.

Luckily, the first vehicle to come by was a Tundra and gave me a jump. Which was fortunate because the second was a J**p.

@RevISK I’m gonna need a map pin for that spot. Bolam Pass is really beautiful, but I haven’t explored any side trails.

It shall be yours.

And then had to fly to Dallas for a quick shoot…
I’ll start up the trip again with my boy starting Friday.

Pictures taken less than 24 hours apart.

More fun:

On the way back to the land from Durango we stopped at Heron Lake state park. Water level is waaay down but it was nice and chilly nonetheless.

Spent a couple days at the land:

Then took a day trip to Cabresto Lake near Questa. It rained on us off and on but the boy got in. Not me this time.

Got back to a night of rain and a soggy pack up this morning but was greeted to a lovely sunrise.

Trucked down to Sam Wahl recreation area outside of Lubbock (or leave it!). Have the place to ourselves. This is a nice spot to camp tonight and let everything dry out before getting back to the humidity and mosquitoes.

Boy is not looking so boyish anymore (based on earlier posts by you). Cool trip. Good job by Dad!
Yeah, he turned into a man all of a sudden, it’s bittersweet for sure.

Late night and early morning at Lake Alan Henry:

I got one of those too. I blinked and my little mop-headed toddler is suddenly a muscular young man who punches a clock at a job.

Back. Mostly unpacked.
Promptly took Norman the 40 for a spin, lurv hur.

Good stats:
Got roughly 12.7 mpgs towing the Datsun trailer most of the time. Not bad. Even had a loose spark plug and a loose plug wire for awhile.

Miss the road already.
