For those that have done body lifts, what's your thoughts on puck material - aluminum versus HDPE spacers?

I don’t think you’ll find much difference in function, but aesthetically, whatever is black and hides is best. No need to draw attention to them.

I have a Roger brown HDPE 1” on my 80. Been there for years and served it’s purpose well.

Really wishing someone had a turnkey kit for the 200.

With how many smart minds and engineer-like minds there are on this forum, it really does surprise me there’s not some sort of kit available yet. I feel like there’s now enough interest.

Right? It's ripe for the picking. I can see someone with @turbo8 / www.ee-offroading.com taking this on. I wouldn't mind contributing to the development with him.

If @Rusty Hinge doesn't do it, I may have the time, motivation and resources to do it over the next 30-45 days.

If it is just spacers and longer bolts, I wouldn't mind helping out. If I need to make steering extensions, radiator relocation brackets, etc. I probably will opt out.

Based on the MTDKID's comment shared in Post #202, it seems the steering needed to be addressed with a 1.5" BL. Big question I'd love to know, is whether we could get away with a 1" BL and leave the steering and radiator as is.

To me, that's ideal.

Steering can slide enough to allow a 1” lift, although I have this extender I’m going to install to see if I like it, however, it's not necessary.

For radiator you have to do either a shroud cut like @MTKID or a drop bracket like me. Without it the fan is coming into contact.

I guess this means @turbo8 is in? ;)

With so many people wanting a body lift I'm curious if everyone wants them for the same reason or if they differ. @TeCKis300 @Cruiserhead05 @Yellow Jacket @Yukon LX
1. for more "lift" leaving suspension untouched
2. for improved approach/departure/breakover angles (edited- only benefit if has stock bumpers?)
3. for aesthetic reasons
4. for help clearing larger tires

I'm primarily #1 and #3.

I see the value of AHC, but prefer riding/driving in something lifted and a small BL help accomplish it.
I understand that #2 above is better accomplished with bumpers
I understand that 35's can fit without a BL, but aesthetically prefer the look of having a bit more clearance in the wheel well vs stock height.

I'm convinced that a sensor lift + 1" BL and 34's or 35's would be very appealing, regardless of whether bumper are done or not.

My point of reference for this comment is post #210. Rusty Hinge's setup with 1.5" BL and 37's look proportionate to me, without going into high mode.

37s. The rest are ancillary.

...and I bent my sliders already.

#4. My 35's rub a little here and there (not major, and I'm sure I can sort it out), but would like the ability to run 37's on the next go-around. :edit: @dubyahard I've also bent my sliders into the rockers :hillbilly:

#4 is the only reason I can think of... larger tires are the only way to lift the axle..
A body lift is just to fit larger tires..
(I'm not going that direction with my truck, so I'm not interested in doing that work)

Yeah, I usually go hard, hence the bent sliders, scratches, dented bumpers, etc. 37s would provide just an extra needed 1" of clearance for me. Now I just need to find some Rock Warriors with some Kendas or Toyos for the next upgrade.

4. Larger than 35” tires.
1. I’ve already maxed out the basic LC lift.

Wrong YellowJacket, but I appreciate being included. I’m happy with 35s, but I’d love to go 37s. A body lift seems like a better/easier option than rolling fenders. I’ve really struggled putting my rock crawling days behind me.

I’d do both. I’m ok with rolling fenders, but not cutting them. I’d rolling ensures another 1/4” or 1/2” of clearance where it’s tight, why not?
