1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the theft deterrent system.
I'm not sure if "Door Lock Sensor" is what it's called, but there's a connection on the backside of the key lock cylinder that somehow senses that the door has been unlocked by the key and therefore doesn't set off the deterrent system. Does anyone know what the official name of that is, and is it replaceable?
Bottom line, the deterrent system keeps randomly engaging when I open the driver door. When I changed the lock actuator I knocked that sensor off and the alarm went off every time I opened the door, but I got it reconnected and now it's back to going off randomly.
