Hey folks,

Not too much too report, got the lower gears and spool in the transfer case. Not a lot of pics, but here are some leftover parts (welding sculpture) and my new hubs...sexy!

Also, been reading about cutting a second groove in my birfiled, which is still in my truck. I think I will use a grinder and just go for it. If I screw up, then chromo is in my future...lots of good threads on this topic, but not many pictures. If you've got some, post em!

8mm inboard is where the new grove goes

The measurement for machining the long birfs were money, right on. EPC measurements were correct. 13mm down from the top of a long birf is where the groove should go, with the groove being about 3mm in width.

New snapring groove on longer birf should start 13mm from the top of the birf.

Quick little zip zip and new grooves, now I am part time. A few observations:
1) No more front drive shaft shimmy
2) No more clunk off the line (I have no idea, probably related to the drive shaft)
3) More noise from the transfer case. Lower gears?
4) So much more power, it only took me about 37 seconds to get up t 65mph, over the normal 40 secs! :)

Wife drove my truck today and said, “wow, this things drives a lot better”

Hi All....

Been a fun run lately, but as you can see, I suck at taking pictures and updating posts. So, what's new?
Cruise Moab - Super fun, lots of driving there and back, super cool people, fun trails.

After Cruise Moab (and a little family vacation in Hawaii) I decided I needed a better way to organize my crap but did not want to spend too much $$$ on drawers so I went with the KISS kit as they are nicer than what I would make on my own and super cost effective. Im happy with how they came out.

One of the things I like about Moab is that you get the combo of good wheeling and beautiful landscapes.

Ive been fighting the dreaded P0401 code since I got my truck, it shows up, I clear it, Im good for a while and then bam, its back. I read a load of threads on this site and decided to tackle it head on by removing the upper intake, replacing all the hoses, the VSV, clean up all the carbon etc...

After 10 miles, I am happy to report no code....

After 20 miles, sh*t, the code is still there:(

Did you clean out the vacuum tube that is routed through and is part of the plenum?

oh yeah, enough cleaning spray to kill a tiny horse. Not the end of the world but I'll keep working at it

I had to drill that port out with a piece of mechanics wire trimmed on an angle. Full of rust and crud.

Still have the P0401, but it didnt stop me from having a blast on the Rubicon. The drag link got bent, but I replaced it with the DOM kit from TG which is much thicker

You can see that both links got bend, just a tad in the back, not the end of the world, but I like to fix things when they break to keep my truck in a state of health as opposed to a state of despair...:)

I had to cut a sleeve from an extra bushing set I had to reuse the stock steering stabilizer mount, but other than that, easy peasy and all fixed.

Ok, fixed the last few things from the last trip, namely replacing the tube to the ac dryer, which would have been a non issue if it'd it'd just have moved it BEFORE I smashed it on a rock. Also, I had an issue where the compressor for my lockers was running non stop, but today, no leaks, maybe heat or altitude? I also sprayed a few spots which look good at 50' away;)

I brought home another 4 wheeled project this weekend so more fun on it's way!

I suck at keeping threads current. I've been lucky enough to go to Moab a few times the Rubicon and Tillamook since the last post as well as countless local trips. In terms of the truck, well, more bumps and bruises, but still awesome. About to start cutting to fit 37's, then monstaliner.

Replaced AC pump
New starter
Finally fixed the p0401
Re-hung the exhaust in a parking lot
About to replace the radiator and water pump

Where did you get the control arm bracket skid plates? Will you run those TRXuS on stock wheels? How much cutting do you plan to do? I have the same tires on stock wheels...
